travel south america venezuela caracas

My impressions of Venezuela are based on a one-day excursion into Caracus.
Our cruise ship landed at the harbor town and we took a bus into Caracus where one of the first sights we saw were the hillside slums known as "ranchitas".
We walked around downtown and visited Plaza Bolivar and the well-kept Palacio Federal before traveling on to visit a glass factory, a hacienda museum, and a
large hotel where we had lunch.
